        Introduced  by  Sen.  KAPLAN -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
          printed to be committed to the Committee on Judiciary
 
        AN ACT to amend the domestic relations law, in  relation  to  permitting
          combination last name changes to occur when separated by a space
 
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section 1. Clause (iv) of subparagraph 3 of paragraph (b) of  subdivi-
     2  sion  1 of section 15 of the domestic relations law, as added by chapter
     3  583 of the laws of 1985, is amended to read as follows:
     4    (iv) a combination name separated by a hyphen or space, provided  that
     5  each part of such combination surname is the premarriage surname, or any
     6  former surname, of each of the spouses.
     7    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
