        Introduced  by  Sens.  MARTINS,  AVELLA, CARLUCCI, JOHNSON, OPPENHEIMER,
          STEWART-COUSINS -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to
          be committed to the Committee on Education -- reported favorably  from
          said committee, ordered to first and second report, ordered to a third
          reading,  passed  by  Senate  and delivered to the Assembly, recalled,

          vote reconsidered, restored to  third  reading,  amended  and  ordered
          reprinted, retaining its place in the order of third reading
 
        AN  ACT  to amend chapter 359 of the laws of 2010 amending the education
          law relating to use of lever voting machines; to amend  chapter  3  of
          the  laws of 2011 amending the election law relating to the number and
          use of voting machines in village elections; and to amend chapter  170
          of  the  laws  of  2011 amending the town law relating to the types of
          voting machines used in certain elections, in  relation  to  extending
          the provisions of such chapters
 
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section 1. Section 8 of chapter 359 of the laws of 2010  amending  the
     2  education  law  relating  to  use of lever voting machines is amended to

     3  read as follows:
     4    § 8. This act shall take effect immediately and shall  expire  and  be
     5  deemed repealed December 31, [2012] 2014.
     6    §  2. Section 2 of chapter 3 of the laws of 2011 amending the election
     7  law relating to the  number  and  use  of  voting  machines  in  village
     8  elections is amended to read as follows:
     9    §  2.  This  act shall take effect immediately and shall expire and be
    10  deemed repealed December 31, [2012] 2014.
    11    § 3. Section 7 of chapter 170 of the laws of 2011  amending  the  town
    12  law  relating  to the types of voting machines used in certain elections
    13  is amended to read as follows:
    14    § 7. This act shall take effect immediately  provided,  however,  that
    15  sections  one, two, four and five of this act shall expire and be deemed

    16  repealed December 31, [2012] 2014, when upon such date the provisions of
    17  sections three and six of this act shall take effect.
    18    § 4. This act shall take effect immediately.
