AN ACT to amend the navigation law, in relation to prohibiting the use
of ballast water to increase a wake within six hundred feet from the
shore of lakes located in the state
The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-bly, do enact as follows:
1 Section 1. Section 45 of the navigation law is amended by adding a new
2 subdivision 1-b to read as follows:
3 1-b. No operator of a vessel on any lake located in the state shall
4 use ballast water on such lake for the purpose of increasing a wake
5 within six hundred feet of the shore.
6 § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
