AN ACT to amend the education law, in relation to the labeling of medi-
cation abortion prescription drugs
The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-bly, do enact as follows:
1 Section 1. Section 6810 of the education law is amended by adding a
2 new subdivision 1-a to read as follows:
3 1-a. (a) Notwithstanding subdivision one of this section, at the
4 prescriber's request, the prescription label for medication abortion
5 prescription drugs may include the name of the prescribing health care
6 practice instead of the name of the prescriber.
7 (b) For the purposes of this subdivision, "medication abortion
8 prescription drugs" means substances used in the course of medical
9 treatment intended to induce the termination of a pregnancy including,
10 but not limited to, mifepristone and misoprostol.
11 § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
