        Introduced  by  Sen.  LANZA  -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
          printed to be committed to the Committee on Codes
 
        AN ACT to amend the penal law, in relation to establishing the crime  of
          feticide
 
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:

     1    Section 1. The penal law is amended by adding a new section 125.24  to
     2  read as follows:
     3  § 125.24 Feticide.
     4    A  person is guilty of feticide when with intent to cause the death of
     5  an unborn child at any stage of gestation, he or she causes  the  termi-
     6  nation  of  a  woman's  pregnancy  resulting in the death of such unborn
     7  child at any stage of gestation, except when such termination occurs  in
     8  accordance with section twenty-five hundred ninety-nine-bb of the public
     9  health law.
    10    Feticide is a class A felony.
    11    §  2.  This  act shall take effect on the ninetieth day after it shall
    12  have become a law.
