WILLIAMS -- read once and referred to the Commit- tee on Corporations, Authorities and Commissions AN ACT to amend the public authorities law, in relation to requiring the metropolitan transportation authority provide fire extinguishers at each platform and on all subway cars The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. The public authorities law is amended by adding a new 2 section 1270-k to read as follows: 3 § 1270-k. Fire extinguishers. 1. The authority shall install one 4 encased, alarmed and publicly accessible fire extinguisher inside every 5 subway station. 6 2. The authority shall install one encased, alarmed and publicly 7 accessible fire extinguisher in each subway car and bus. 8 § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
