HONORING Alleghany Farm Services upon the occasion
of its designation as recipient of the Agricultural
Business of the Year Award by the Genesee County
Chamber of Commerce
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality and character of life in the communities across New York
State are enhanced by the concerned and dedicated efforts of business
organizations and individuals that generously contribute to the welfare
of the community and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Alleghany Farm Services upon the occasion of its designation as
recipient of the Agricultural Business of the Year Award by the Genesee
County Chamber of Commerce to be celebrated at its 50th Annual Awards
Ceremony on Saturday, March 12, 2022; and
WHEREAS, Alleghany Farm Services (AFS) is receiving this auspicious
award for its demonstrated growth and commitment to Genesee County; and
WHEREAS, With its headquarters in Genesee County, Alleghany Farm
Services was founded by Drew Klotzbach in 1983 as Klotzbach Excavating,
mainly working on small residential and commercial jobs; Drew quickly
grew the company to focus on large commercial projects, including
installing farm drainage systems; and
WHEREAS, Since its inception nearly four decades ago, Alleghany Farm
Services has grown from a company with just a handful of equipment and a
whole lot of hard work and determination, into the largest farm drainage
company in New York State alongside his son, Chad; and
WHEREAS, Chad Klotzbach joined the business as its Operations
Manager in 2010, after completing his Civil Engineering degree from
Clarkson University; just one year later, under his able leadership,
Alleghany Farm Services added three Trimble RTK GPS systems to its
drainage business; and
WHEREAS, Today, Alleghany Farm Services is a leader in GPS and
digital mapping, leveraging technology to produce the highest return on
investment for AFS clients; and
WHEREAS, Always striving to maintain great working relationships in
the local agricultural community, Alleghany Farm Services continues to
grow and has expanded its home base and buildings to Basom, New York;
and
WHEREAS, Furthermore, Alleghany Farm Services has expanded its
business footprint in 2021, now serving clients in more than six states
beyond the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, With a steadfast and unremitting commitment to staying well
informed of the latest industry technologies, Alleghany Farm Services
ensures it is providing its customers with the best product available,
delivering on-grade, on-time work with a focus on conservation and
strong ecological standards; and
WHEREAS, The success of Alleghany Farm Services is in direct
correlation to the efforts of Drew and Chad Klotzbach, as well as its
dedicated staff, whose involvement is, and always has been,
characterized by an impressive commitment, an unbridled enthusiasm, and
an uncompromising standard of excellence in all endeavors on behalf of
the business and the community it serves; and
WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that this Legislative Body
acknowledges this exceptional agricultural business and its
contributions to the local and State economies, fully confident that it
will continue to enjoy the sparkling successes it has experienced thus
far; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Alleghany Farm Services upon the occasion of its designation as
recipient of the Agricultural Business of the Year Award by the Genesee
County Chamber of Commerce; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Alleghany Farm Services.
