Gunther to Host Unclaimed Funds Booth
Monticello, NY – Assemblywoman Aileen Gunther (D,C – Forestburgh) has asked New York State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli to bring the Unclaimed Funds Booth to the 98th Assembly District. The Office of Unclaimed Funds holds money from inactive accounts from banks, insurance companies, utilities, investment companies and many other businesses. Currently, there is $12 billion available.
The Unclaimed Funds booth is manned by representatives from the Comptroller’s Office who will assist residents in searching the database for any money that may be owed to them. The largest account in the fund left unclaimed is $1.7 million.
The booths will be open at on Wednesday, August 22nd from 2 pm to 5 pm in the lobby of the Sullivan County Government Center, 100 North Street, Monticello and on Thursday, August 23rd from 2 pm to 5 pm in the lobby of Middletown City Hall, 16 James Street, Middletown.
