Assemblywoman Gunther Statement on the New York State Tax Relief Commission Report
December 10, 2013
Monticello, NY – Assemblywoman Aileen Gunther (D,I,WF-Forestburgh), today released the following statement:
“I’m encouraged that the Tax Relief Commission’s first recommendations would provide property tax relief to homeowners. I have long supported a property tax circuit breaker– a more thoughtful approach that would provide meaningful relief, especially to families in the 100th Assembly District. I appreciate the Commission’s suggestions at reducing the tax burden on businesses, including simplifying the tax code and eliminating the 18-a utility assessment. Upstate businesses continue to struggle, and I look forward to working with the Governor and my colleagues to help Upstate businesses grow, thrive and create good paying jobs.”
