Goodell: Library Funding Essential To The Strength Of Our Communities
Assemblyman Andy Goodell (R,C,I-Chautauqua) recently met with the Western New York Library Resources Council, Empire State Library Network, and representatives from local libraries who advocated for increased funding for libraries. Goodell listened to a spectrum of opinions that made it evident that new funding for libraries is essential to the future success of our communities.
“Libraries are an integral part of the fabric of our communities,” said Goodell. “With constant changes in technology libraries require new capital investments to keep themselves up to date in order to continue providing their services in the most effective and efficient manner possible. Increased funding will help provide infrastructure upgrades to their facilities as well as sorely-needed programs and services to the people of Western New York. I look forward to advocating for increased funding for our libraries during the upcoming budget negotiations.”
