Beephan’s Fishkill Creek Proposal Signed into Law by Governor Hochul
Assemblyman Anil Beephan, Jr. (R,C-East Fishkill) announced a major legislative victory this week, as his bill (A6888/S982) to add Fishkill Creek to New York State’s definition of inland waterways was officially signed into law by Governor Kathy Hochul.
“I’m proud to share that my bill to help flood victims along the Fishkill Creek has been officially signed by Governor Kathy Hochul,” Beephan said. “This designation will allow our communities to access state grants to reduce flooding and storm damage, strengthen creek banks and stormwater infrastructure, improve water quality and protect the environment. This legislation reflects a commonsense approach to local needs, helping our towns pursue projects that will safeguard residents and property for years to come. Thank you to Senator Rob Rolison for partnering with me to get this done for residents in the 105th Assembly District.”
This new designation will benefit residents across the towns of Union Vale, Beekman, East Fishkill, Fishkill, Wappinger and the City of Beacon.
