Local Heroes Commended for Swift Response in Safeguarding Community
Assemblyman Ari Brown (R-Cedarhurst) calls for all to “Give thanks to our heroes, our police officers and all first responders.”
Assemblyman Ari Brown (R,C-Cedarhurst) today praised the commendable display of dedication and valor from Auxiliary Police Inspector Danny Gluck, Fourth Precinct Inspector Vincent Boden and County Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder who are being hailed for their heroic actions during an incident on March 12, 2024.
“On this fateful day, a group of Palestinian agitators sought to harass the Jewish community in the Village of Cedarhurst, protesting an event at the Young Israel of Lawrence-Cedarhurst. The event aimed to educate individuals on making Aliyah (moving to Israel) and purchasing property that belongs to the people of Israel,” said Brown.
Auxiliary Police Inspector Danny Gluck, a stalwart member of our community, played a pivotal role in ensuring the safety of residents during this tense situation. His unwavering commitment to duty and swift response were instrumental in maintaining order and protecting the well-being of those in attendance. Inspector Gluck’s dedicated forces, the largest auxiliary police unit in the county, recently returned to Cedarhurst after having been temporarily replaced. “I commend this display of unwavering dedication, bravery and loyalty from the entire unit,” said Brown.
Fourth Precinct Inspector Vincent Boden demonstrated exceptional leadership in coordinating the response to the threat, showcasing his dedication to preserving peace and fostering a secure environment for all residents. He immediately gathered together his officers, the K-9 unit and mounted police for an all-encompassing protective effort.
County Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder, whose leadership sets the standard for law enforcement in our county, oversaw the operation with strategic acumen. His decisive actions and commitment to public safety were evident throughout the incident, reinforcing the trust the community places in his capable hands.
