Assemblyman Ari Brown Calls for Immediate Action on Early Intervention System Failures

Today, Assemblyman Ari Brown (R-Cedarhurst) with colleague Assemblywoman Jodi Giglio (R,C-Riverhead) and Assemblyman Ed Ra (R,C-Franklin Square) held a press conference at the Million Dollar Staircase in Albany, demanding urgent reform to New York's Early Intervention (EI) program. Citing the disastrous implementation of the EI-Hub system, Brown called for the immediate suspension of the program, which has caused widespread delays in services, payment disruptions and jeopardized the development of more than 70,000 vulnerable children across the state.

"The EI-Hub was supposed to streamline services but has instead exacerbated the problems," said Brown. "The state has failed to protect its most vulnerable children, and it’s time for accountability. The Public Consulting Group’s mismanagement, the no-bid contract and the lack of transparency have caused irreparable harm to families and providers alike."

Brown is demanding the suspension of the EI-Hub, a significant increase in reimbursement rates for providers and a full investigation into the controversial contract awarded to Public Consulting Group. He emphasized that every day this crisis continues, children lose critical developmental time.

"The failure of this system is not just a policy issue—it’s a matter of life and death for many of New York’s most vulnerable children," Brown concluded.
