Assembly Billy Jones Announces District 115 School Appreciation Tour

On Thursday, Assemblyman Billy Jones (D-Chateaugay Lake) visited Saranac Lake Central School to check out their community school program as the first stop of his District 115 School Appreciation Tour. Over the next few months, Jones will be scheduling visits at every school district within the 115th state assembly district to thank teachers, staff, and administrators for their hard work and to discuss the best ways the state can continue to support local school districts.

“School districts across the North Country have stepped up over the past couple of years to provide the best education for our children when no one really knew what the next day would bring, and the least I can do is to come to these schools and show my appreciation for the teachers, staff, and administrators that made it all possible. I was proud to kick off my District 115 School Appreciation Tour at Saranac Lake Central School this week and look forward to visiting more schools in the upcoming weeks to thank school districts for all their hard work over the past couple of years to teach our children in a safe manner.”

Throughout the pandemic, local school districts mostly avoided closing their doors and were able to continue in-person learning. Before the school year ends, Jones will continue to visit school districts across the North Country to thank everyone for their hard work and cooperation over the last two years of uncertainty.
