“The new contract between Broome County Department of Transportation and Nova Bus for 6 electric buses is reflective of how hard our region has worked to develop the North Country into a manufacturing and transportation hub since the Plattsburgh Air Force Base closed in the 1990s. This not only is great news for our local economy, but also helps New York State reach its goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions. I am proud to have secured funding to help develop the transportation and manufacturing industries in the North Country, and I look forward to seeing more contracts like this in the future.”
