Assemblyman Brian Maher (R,C-Walden) secured $15,000 to support community food distribution programs throughout the 101st Assembly District, helping bring food and essential resources directly to families in Livingston Manor, Roscoe and Ellenville this year.

Through partnerships with the Food Bank of the Hudson Valley, Ramapo Catskill Library System (RCLS) and local community organizations, Maher’s office has worked to bring distributions directly into the communities he represents. Maher hopes to continue and expand these efforts throughout the district in the months and years ahead.

Most recently, Team Maher joined the Food Bank of the Hudson Valley and RCLS for a community food distribution at the Roscoe-Rockland Fire Department Community Center in Roscoe, helping provide 200 households with access to food and essential resources.

The distribution brought together community partners and volunteers to ensure individuals and families throughout the Roscoe area could access the support they need close to home. Team Maher assisted with the distribution and connected with residents and local organizations working to serve the community.

“Making sure our neighbors have access to food and essential resources is one of the most basic ways we can support one another,” said Meghan Hurlburt, chief of staff and spokesperson for Assemblyman Maher. “We are incredibly grateful to the Food Bank of the Hudson Valley, RCLS, the Roscoe-Rockland Fire Department and everyone who helped make this distribution possible. Events like this demonstrate what can be accomplished when organizations, volunteers and community leaders come together with a shared commitment to helping their neighbors.”

Assemblyman Maher’s office has continued to work alongside local organizations and community partners throughout the 101st Assembly District to connect residents with resources and support efforts addressing food insecurity.
