Friend, Byrnes Welcome Student Advocates From Reality Check

Assemblyman Christopher S. Friend (R,C,I-Big Flats) and Assemblywoman Marjorie Byrnes (R,C-Caledonia) welcomed Southern Tier students from Reality Check, an anti-smoking action and education program, while they were visiting the state Capitol.

“Empowering students and young people to engage with their communities and elected officials can make a big impact in the matters and issues they care about,” said Friend. “I am happy to stand with these students in their efforts to promote healthier living among our youth and throughout our communities.”

Reality Check not only is working against youth smoking and the sale of tobacco products, but is raising awareness of the risks of vaping products. Chief among their concerns were the tactics being used by tobacco companies to make vaping products appealing to youths.
