Friend: Assembly Majority Should Be Ashamed of Their Daily Enabling of Governor

Statement from Assemblyman Christopher S. Friend (R,C,I-Big Flats) on day five of Assembly Majority blocking efforts to strip governor of his extraordinary emergency powers

“Assembly Majority leaders should be ashamed of the great lengths they are taking to protect the governor and the extraordinary emergency powers which he squandered by lying to the public about there being more than 15,000 nursing home deaths. My Minority colleagues and I have attached amendments to more than 80 bills to strip the governor of these powers, but the Majority members instead have refused to act. It is so bad that they even canceled session outright on Monday. We have had five days of inaction. Assembly Majority needs to do their job.”

A copy of the amendment is attached.
