Crouch & Akshar Dedicate Bridge in Hancock to Fallen Veterans
Assemblyman Clifford W. Crouch (R-Bainbridge) and Sen. Fred Akshar (R,C,IP) held a ceremony today in the Village of Hancock dedicating a bridge to fallen veterans. This portion of State Route 97 spanning the Delaware River in the Town of Hancock shall now be designated and known as the “Hancock Veterans Memorial Bridge.”
The bridge was dedicated in remembrance of all the soldiers from the village who lost their lives in service of our country. The ceremony was attended by family and friends of fallen and living veterans of Hancock, and local elected officials.
“I am very proud to have played a part in dedicating this bridge to the fallen and living veterans of Hancock,” said Crouch. “Our veterans have sacrificed so much for our country, freedom and our community. Honoring and memorializing them so that future generations can appreciate their sacrifices is the least we can do. I am beyond grateful for all they have done. ”
Senator Fred Akshar said, "I'm humbled to play a part in dedicating this bridge to our Hancock veterans. We are a community that honors our heroes and recognizes the difficult sacrifices they’ve made for their county and their community. For so many who gave the ultimate sacrifice, we may never be able to thank them in person, but we can still honor them by remembering their sacrifice. We can still thank them by thanking their families and thanking the servicemen and women who are still with us."
