Stec Satisfied With Interim Attorney General Selection
Assemblyman Dan Stec (R,C,I-Queensbury) showed his support for the selection of Barbara Underwood as interim attorney general today. Underwood was selected following numerous public interviews by a joint delegation of legislators from all the conferences in Albany over the last few weeks. The previous attorney general, Eric Schneiderman, was forced to step down earlier this month following numerous allegations of domestic abuse that were raised against him.
“I am satisfied with the selection today of Barbara Underwood as interim attorney general,” said Stec. “After the outrageous allegations and eventual stepping down of Eric Schneiderman earlier this month, we as legislators had to act and take the necessary steps to fill the vacant position. We were forced to do the only sensible thing we could do, make the solicitor general the interim attorney general until voters, and not politicians, can select their own attorney general on Election Day.”
