Barrett Encourages the Governor to Sign Important Lyme Legislation
Bipartisan bill delivered to his desk
Assemblymember Didi Barrett (D – Columbia, Dutchess) announced that legislation she authored that would expand treatment options for patients suffering from Lyme and other tick-borne illnesses has been delivered to Governor Cuomo (A.7558/S.7854). Under state law, the governor has until December 17th to act on the bill. This past October, Assemblymember Barrett put out a video calling on governor Cuomo to sign the bill [click here for video].
The bill unanimously passed both houses of the legislature.
With less than ten days left for the governor to act on the bill, Assemblymember Barrett sent this letter to Governor Cuomo highlighting the importance of this legislation. Barrett is asking for residents to continue speaking out and join her in showing support for the bill. Interested residents can call the governor’s office at 518-474-8390 or send a letter to the NYS Capitol Building, Albany, NY 12224.
