Area Regional Councils Awarded Over $140 Million
Mid-Hudson Valley named “Top Performer”
“The Mid-Hudson Valley and Capital regions have been awarded over $140 million by the Regional Economic Development Council (REDC) to help strengthen our economy and expand our core industries. The Mid-Hudson Valley has been named a “Top Performer” and received $82.8 million. This award is a testament to our regional council’s hard work and local team efforts. I commend both local REDCs for putting forth plans that will help our local businesses create and retain good-paying jobs here at home. I look forward to continuing to work with business leaders and members of our regional councils to keep the momentum going, finding new and creative ways to spur economic growth while recognizing the unique strengths of our Hudson Valley’s hardworking men and women.”
Assemblymember Didi Barrett (D- Columbia, Dutchess) today attended the Regional Economic Development Council (REDC) awards ceremony. The program was formed in 2011 and aimed to redesign the state’s approach to economic development by recognizing the strengths and uniqueness of each region throughout New York State.
