Montauk Highway Resurfacing Update From Assemblyman Fred W. Thiele, Jr.

Assemblyman Fred W. Thiele, Jr. (I, D, WF-Sag Harbor) today announced that the first phase of the resurfacing of Montauk Highway between East Hampton and Southampton was completed on time. The 2.3 mile segment between Route 114 and Stephen Hands Path was completed before Memorial Day as promised.
Phase 2 of this project would resurface the remaining 10 miles of the road between Stephen Hands Path and CR 39 in Southampton. Thiele has been informed by the State Department of Transportation (DOT) that this phase of the project has now entered the design phase of its development. It is anticipated that the project will be let out to bid in the Fall of 2013 and that construction will commence in the Spring of 2014.
