Peconic Bay Community Preservation Fund Revenues for January 2016 Total $8.92 Million

Monthly revenues increase by 6.6% over January 2015

Assemblyman Fred W. Thiele, Jr. (I-Sag Harbor) today reported that revenues for the Peconic Bay Community Preservation Fund (CPF) produced $8.92 in revenue for the Peconic Bay Region for January 2016. This compares with $8.32 million in January 2015. This is a 6.6% increase over 2015 for the month. Since its inception in 1999, the Peconic Bay Regional Community Preservation Fund has generated $1.102 billion. Thiele stated, “It is clear that the real estate industry on the East End continued to be in a strong position. Town CPF funds should be flush with cash, allowing Towns to be aggressive in protecting lands for open space, farmland, parks and recreation, and historic preservation purposes. Further, we are now well positioned to extend the fund for an additional 20 years and add water to land preservation in our efforts to protect the East End’s community character. A referendum on the extension and water quality amendments could be held by the Towns in 2016.” Below are revenues by Town for January 2016 compared with January 2015:
