NYS Route 24 Slated for Improvements to Meet ADA Requirements

The Department of Transportation is entering the design phase of its development for 13 locations throughout Long Island, including NYS Route 24

Assemblyman Fred W. Thiele Jr. (I, D, WF-Sag Harbor) announced that the Department of Transportation is entering the design phase of its development for 13 locations throughout Long Island, including New York State Route 24, Flanders Road, from the Riverhead traffic circle to east of Bellows Pond Road in the Town of Southampton. The project will install and/or upgrade sidewalk curb ramps to meet current standards set by the Americans with Disabilities Act and DOT.

Construction is tentatively scheduled to start in the fall of 2019. Some locations may begin construction in the spring of 2020.
