Assemblyman Fred W. Thiele, Jr. today announced that he has been appointed to serve on the General Government Conference Committee by Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie. The joint Conference Committees are comprised of members of both the Assembly and Senate, and examine issues surrounding the state budget. As the Chair of the Assembly Local Governments Committee, Assemblyman Thiele will serve on the General Government Conference Committee that examines issues like AIM funding and local government assistance.

Assemblyman Thiele stated, “I am proud to have been appointed by Speaker Heastie to serve on the General Government Conference Committee, and look forward to representing the interests of our local governments across the state in a most consequential budget year as we begin to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.”
