State Budget Should Shed Controversial Policy Proposals

A Statement by Assemblyman Gary D. Finch (R,C,I-Springport)

“Americans are frustrated by partisan fighting in Washington and they should be. In a crisis, real leadership means focusing on key objectives and getting real results.

“In Albany, we can do better. Our state budget should keep government running and fund a comprehensive response to the coronavirus. Majority politicians must not complicate the process by insisting that controversial policy issues continue to be a part of the process. There will be time for spirited debate on a wide array of issues after we get through this. In the middle of a generational public health crisis is not that time,” said Finch.
