Assemblymember Bronson Helps Secure Additional CHIPs Funding for Infrastructure Repair and Job Creation

First increase in funding for Consolidated Local Street and Highway Improvement Program (CHIPS) in 5 years

“In an effort to help ease the burden placed on local governments and create more quality job opportunities, the 2013-14 state budget includes a $75 million increase to rehabilitate local infrastructure as part of the Consolidated Local Street and Highway Improvement Program (CHIPs).

“The CHIPS program makes a smart investment in today’s workforce, creates good-paying jobs and makes much-needed repairs to decaying roadways and bridges that will save taxpayers down the line from more substantial repairs.
