2013-14 Budget Increases School Aid by $936.6 Million over Last Year
Assemblymember Harry B. Bronson (D-Rochester/Chili/Henrietta) announced the 2013-14 state budget includes increased funding for Monroe County schools (A.3007-D). The final budget increases school aid by $19.2 million for schools in the 138th Assembly District.
“I fought hard to make sure our children received the support they deserve,” Assemblymember Bronson said. “This money will go to help Monroe County schools balance costs without burdening our hardworking families with additional taxes.”
Local school aid and percentage increased:
- Churchville-Chili School District: $1,450,835; or a 5.77% increase
- Gates-Chili School District: $87,424; or a 0.32% increase
- Rochester School District: $15,102,008; or a 3.46% increase
- Rush-Henrietta School District: $1,978,416; or a 8.47% increase
- Wheatland-Chili School District: $643,185; or a 14.72% increase
“Providing our schools with the necessary resources and ensuring our students have the opportunity to learn and succeed in life is crucial and has been one of my top priorities,” said Assemblymember Bronson. “When it comes to the future success of Monroe County, there’s no substitute for a high-quality education for our young people.”
