Assemblymember Bronson Welcomes You to participate in National Night Out

Assemblymember Harry B. Bronson (D-Rochester/Chili/Henrietta) is encouraging all local residents to take part in our local National Night Out events. National Night Out is an annual summer event designed to strengthen community spirit and raise awareness about crime and drug prevention, and to generate support and participation in local programs and partnerships.

These events are family-friendly, educational and are designed to bring neighbors and their neighborhood together. Locally, several National Night Out events will take place on Tuesday, August 6, 2013, including:

  • Highland Park Neighborhood Association at Ellwanger-Barry Park starting at 5 p.m.,
  • Lock 66 Neighbors at Sumner Park starting at 6 p.m.,
  • Upper Mt. Hope Neighborhood association at Lattimore and Westmorland Roads at 6:30 p.m.,
  • Beechwood Neighbors at 6pm in the parking lot across from the Dazzle Theatre (110 Webster Avenue) with a presentation at 7 p.m. at the theatre.

Additionally, on Thursday August 8th the Lilac/Azalea Neighbors Association will be holding their National Night Out event at the Rochester Fire Department’s Firehouse at South Avenue and Pavilion Street from 7pm – 8:30 pm.

“National Night Out is a time for us to come together as a community so we can make our neighborhoods a better, safer place for all of us,” said Assemblymember Bronson. “This annual event gives us an opportunity to raise awareness about crime and drug prevention, generate support for anti-crime programs and improve the relationship between police and the residents they serve, so as a community we can work together to collectively strengthen our neighborhoods.”

The National Night Out campaign involves citizens, law enforcement agencies, civic groups, businesses, neighborhood organizations and local officials. Anyone with questions regarding National Night Out or any other community issue may call Assemblymember Bronson’s office at 244-5255.

Assemblymember’s Bronson’s support for National Night Out continues his commitment to helping put policies in place that make communities safer.
