Assemblyman Jake Ashby Passes Tax Relief Bill In Albany

Assemblyman Jake Ashby (R,C,I,Ref.-Castleton has passed beneficial tax bill for local business

Assemblyman Jake Ashby (R,C,I,Ref.-Castleton) passed his first bill in Albany on Wednesday. The legislation will provide for a tax exemption for Stride Adaptive Sports, a local nonprofit business in West Sand Lake. The mission of Stride is to educate and empower individuals with special needs in life-changing sports and recreation programs to sustain healthy, active and fun lifestyles.

“This bill will benefit a phenomenal local nonprofit business that ensures everyone is receiving an equal opportunity in regard to sports and recreation programs. When an organization that solely runs on donations and grants is able to receive a benefit like the one this legislation helps to provide, it is pretty special,” said Ashby.

Wednesday is the scheduled last day of the legislative session. Lawmakers in the Assembly have been hard at work this week in hopes of concluding session on time. “In my short time in the Assembly, I have made it my top priority to advocate for my district and I will continue to do so. I am proud of my work thus far in reaching across the aisle to get things accomplished. I want to commend my colleagues in both parties for their hard work and dedication to the people of our great state,” Ashby concluded.
