Ashby Hosts ThinkDIFFERENTLY Movie for Special Needs Children

Assemblyman Jake Ashby (R,C,I, Ref-Castleton) welcomed over 100 people to the Regal Cinema in East Greenbush for a free showing of “Disney’s Christopher Robin” on Saturday August 4.

“This was an outstanding community event that brought many families and friends together for a fun experience,” explained Ashby. “The smiles and laughter from the children at our event is something I will not soon forget.”

The event, part of the statewide ThinkDIFFERENTLY initiative, was co-sponsored by Rensselaer County Executive Steve McLaughlin, Rensselaer County District Attorney Joel Abelove and Rensselaer County Legislator Tom Grant.

“Every day our team here in Rensselaer County sets out to make a positive impact in our community,” said Ashby. “I cannot thank my co-sponsors enough for making this amazing event a reality.”

Launched by Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro in 2015, the ThinkDIFFERENTLY initiative seeks to change the way individuals, businesses, organizations and communities relate to our neighbors with special needs.
