Ashby: Unchecked Growth In Spending Cause Of $6.1 Billion Budget Hole

Statement from Assemblyman Jake Ashby (R,C,I,Ref-Castleton) on Governor’s Executive Budget Proposal

“With a $6.1 billion budget deficit and total spending exceeding $178 billion, it is obvious that our state has a spending problem. New York must carefully reduce spending while ensuring investment in the areas that matter most, such as school aid, infrastructure and clean water. I will be reviewing the governor’s budget proposal carefully, looking for and opposing any gimmicks, revenue raisers and tax increases that New York taxpayers simply cannot afford.”
