Ashby Vehemently Opposes Misleading Assembly Majority Bill Extending Governor’s Extraordinary Powers

Statement from Assemblyman Jake Ashby (R,C,I-Castleton) on his vote against Assembly Majority bill A.5967

“The Assembly Majority bill just rewards the governor’s bad behavior by extending his extraordinary powers indefinitely. Assembly Majority leadership has misled the press, every New Yorker and, strangely enough, themselves in thinking that this bill does anything to restrict the governor or eliminate his damaging executive orders. This bill and their refusal to support a bipartisan solution, which was offered, is a tremendous disappointment for all New Yorkers.”
