“An independent review of our state’s response to the COVID-19 crisis is long overdue. Many families who lost loved ones to COVID-19 are still grieving and deserve answers. My thoughts go out to everyone who lost a family member or friend during the pandemic—our state should have been better prepared and more strategic in addressing this crisis. I fully support my colleagues from the Assembly and Senate Minority Conferences in calling for a full and thorough review of New York state’s response to the pandemic. I am eager to see what our state could do differently to improve our response to similar situations in the future.”
