Gallahan: Food Brings People Together

Assemblyman Jeff Gallahan (R,C-Manchester) served up delicious pancakes with pure New York state maple syrup at a pancake brunch event for staff on March 26, 2025, alongside Assemblyman Brian Miller (R,C-New Hartford), Assemblyman Brian Manktelow (R,C-Lyons) and Assemblyman Chris Tague (R,C-Schoharie). Gallahan says this event was a lot of fun and brought staff together during budget negotiations.

“It is a fact of life: food brings people together, and nothing beats fresh pancakes served with pure maple syrup made right here in the great state of New York,” said Gallahan. “I was very proud to join my colleagues in the Assembly to serve breakfast to staff members and others during a busy week of session. Making delicious food is a passion of mine and my family, and it is a privilege to share it with friends and staff members who work tremendously hard to keep things running smoothly. Special thanks to each of my colleagues who participated in the pancake brunch and thank you to our incredible Assembly staff for all you do.”

Miller said, “It was a privilege to cook and serve pancakes with authentic New York state maple syrup and to pass a resolution recognizing March as Pure New York State Maple Month. Our maple producers play a vital role in our state’s economy, and we were proud to share pure New York maple syrup with our Assembly colleagues as we celebrated this great industry.”

Manktelow said, “Every year, I love making pancakes for our colleagues and providing the opportunity to let every Assembly member try some authentic New York state maple syrup. It’s an important product many New Yorkers are proud to produce and I am proud to serve.”

Tague said, “The Assembly has hundreds of staffers and workers behind the scenes who often go unrecognized but provide an essential service to legislators and representatives in government. I was so honored to take a moment and make sure they were recognized with a full breakfast and thanks from me and my Assembly colleagues, and to showcase our state’s pure New York maple syrup producers and their product as a complement to the event made it all the more special. The work done in Albany could not be done without them there with us!”
