Assemblyman Gallahan’s “Supply the Shelters” Pet Drive A Huge Success: Urges Constituents to Adopt an Animal Today
Assemblyman Jeff Gallahan (R, C-Manchester) today announced the overwhelming success of his annual “Supply the Shelters” pet donation drive, with thousands of pounds of new pet food, treats, toys, litter, and cleaning supplies collected and delivered to the Happy Tails Animal Shelter in Ontario County and the Beverly Animal Shelter in Seneca County.
“I continue to be inspired by the compassion and generosity of our community every day, and these donations will make a real difference in the lives of animals waiting for their forever homes. I want to thank every constituent who dropped off supplies and extend my gratitude to Happy Tails and Beverly Animal Shelters for their incredible work each day,” said Gallahan.
“Animal shelters across our region are seeing a rise in surrenders and intakes due to economic challenges and housing uncertainty. If you’re thinking about adding a pet to your family, now is the time. Visit one of our local shelters—you just might meet your new best friend,” Gallahan continued.
“We are deeply grateful for the incredible support shown by Assemblyman Gallahan and the community through the Supply the Shelters pet donation drive. The generous contributions of pet food, treats, toys, litter, and cleaning supplies will significantly enhance the well-being of animals in our care. As we face increasing challenges with animal surrenders and intakes, these donations are more vital than ever. We encourage everyone to consider adopting a pet from the Humane Society of Ontario County—your new best friend is waiting for you. Together, we can make a profound difference in the lives of these animals and ensure they find loving, forever homes,” said Happy Tails Animal Shelter Board of Directors President Kurt Koczent.
“The Beverly Animal Shelter, board members, staff and especially the animals, are so very thankful for Assemblyman Jeff Gallahan. We, like all shelters, are overwhelmed by large numbers of homeless animals. The donations, food, litter, toys are just amazing! Assemblyman Gallahan is very kind, thoughtful and the animals love him. His constituents are very lucky to have him. We think he's The Cat's Meow,” said Beverly Animal Shelter Board of Directors President Dan Morrin.
