Assemblywoman Jodi Giglio (R,C-Riverhead) is proud to announce the resounding success of her recent Back-To-School Drive, held in partnership with St. John’s Parish Outreach. Thanks to the incredible generosity of the community, the drive exceeded all expectations and distributed hundreds of essential school supplies to students in need throughout the Riverhead area.

As the new school year begins, hundreds of students will start their academic journey fully equipped, thanks to the overwhelming support from local residents and businesses. The collected items included backpacks, notebooks, pencils, pens, markers and other critical supplies that will help ensure these students are prepared for success within their classrooms.

“I am so proud of our community for coming together to support our local students in need,” says Giglio. “Every child deserves the tools necessary to succeed in school, and this drive has helped make that a reality for many.”

The drive ran through Aug. 30, with donation drop-off locations at the Riverhead Library, Riverhead Toyota, Riverhead Apple Honda and St. John’s Parish Outreach. The overwhelming response from the community allowed the drive to surpass its original goals, ensuring that even more students received the supplies they need to thrive in school.

“The start of a new school year can be a stressful time for many families, and I’m so glad we were able to ease that burden for so many,” Giglio continued. “All supplies have been distributed to students through local schools and community organizations, making sure that they reach those who need them most.”
