Lemondes Responds to Attack on Army Outpost in Jordan

Assemblyman John Lemondes (R,C-LaFayette) commented today on the attack on a U.S. Army outpost in Jordan yesterday that killed three service members and left more than 30 injured. The attack took place near the Syrian border and marked the first time American troops have been killed by enemy fire in the Middle East since Hamas attacked Israel on October 7. While officials are still investigating which group is responsible, President Biden has vowed to respond. Lemondes is heartbroken to see this tragic loss of life and is calling on the president to hold those responsible for this act of terror accountable.

“These service members embodied the spirit of what it means to serve your country,” said Lemondes. “Their selflessness, bravery and willingness to lay their lives on the line exemplified their commitment to our nation. As an Army veteran and an American, my heart breaks for the families of those who lost their lives in this senseless attack. We must hold those responsible accountable and protect our troops overseas.”
