Giglio Calls For Special Session From Albany

Assemblyman Joe Giglio (R,I,C-Gowanda) today called on Assembly leadership to reconvene for a special session to deal with unfinished business from the 2007 Legislative Session which ended in June.

Giglio and his Assembly Minority colleagues traveled to Albany in hopes of a special session being called. Assembly leaders did not travel to Albany.

“I am here, ready to work,” said Giglio. “We left Albany in June with important legislation resting on the back burner. Bills with widespread support such as a new Article X power plant citing law, an upstate jobs plan, property tax relief and increased penalties for habitual criminal offenders affect millions of New Yorkers and require our immediate attention. I’d like to know where Assembly leadership is so we can get to work on these important issues.”
