Brown Responds to SUNY Chancellor Resignation

Assemblyman Keith Brown (R,C,I-Northport) is joining the chorus of legislative officials lauding the recently announced resignation of SUNY Chancellor Jim Malatras. Earlier today, Malatras announced he would be resigning as chancellor of SUNY. Malatras’ resignation came after widespread outrage over disparaging comments he made about Cuomo accuser Lindsey Boylan.

“As a SUNY alumnus, I couldn’t be happier to see Jim Malatras go,” said Brown. “Malatras’ comments about Cuomo’s victims, his handling of SUNY schools throughout the pandemic and his crony relationship with former Gov. Andrew Cuomo absolutely disqualify him from serving the people of New York and the students within the SUNY system. In addition, as the Assembly Judiciary Committee uncovered in the Impeachment Investigation his involvement with Cuomo’s corrupt book deal absolutely disqualifies him from serving the people of New York and the students within the SUNY system.”
