Brown To Recognize Seymour’s Boatyard For Registration On The NYS Historic Business Preservation Registry

Assemblyman Keith Brown (R,C-Northport) will be recognizing Seymour’s Boatyard, a historical local business in Northport he nominated to be included on the New York State Historic Business Preservation Registry, for its recent registration. This beloved local business was first established by Dexter C. Seymour in 1923, and Assemblyman Brown is proud to help recognize Seymour’s historical significance and dedication to the Northport community. The award presentation will take place this Wednesday, November 29 at 6 p.m.

“Seymour’s Boatyard has operated its unique business, which requires a lot of blood, sweat and intense physical labor, and has built an incredibly positive reputation in the Northport community over the years,” said Brown. “This family-owned business has overlooked Northport Harbor for a century, and it's high time to recognize and celebrate its place in the history of our community and its legacy serving Northport boaters. I want to wish the Seymours and the rest of the Weber family a heartfelt congratulations. Now, this beloved business will exist on the New York State Historic Business Preservation Registry forever.”
