Statement from Assemblyman Keith P. Brown (R,C-Northport) on the Veto of the Recovery Ready Workplace Act
December 29, 2025
“I am deeply disappointed by the governor’s decision to veto the Recovery Ready Workplace Act (A.521), legislation I co-sponsored that passed both houses of the Legislature unanimously and reflected a clear bipartisan commitment to supporting New Yorkers in recovery. As a co-sponsor of this bill, I believe that the financial costs could be covered by the existing Opioid Settlement money and put off any further by having to wait another year for the next Budget cycle. This would be an excellent use of that money to prevent people from using to begin with.”
