Blankenbush Rallies With Highway Workers
Assemblyman Ken Blankenbush (R,C,I-Black River) joined over 700 highway officials and lawmakers to call for $150 million in funding for the Consolidated Local Street and Highway Improvement Program (CHIPS).
The governor needs to look past the MTA and open his eyes to see that the rest of New York needs funding for safe roads, bridges and highways. Our local roads matter too! said Blankenbush. Adequately funding our infrastructure shouldnt be a partisan issue. CHIPS is the lifeline for our local and state roads, bridges and highways, yet we havent seen an increase in funding for this essential program in years. I also called for increased funding for the Extreme Winter Recovery Program. Between flooding and snowstorms, the North Country and Mohawk Valley are no strangers to extreme weather, so its so important to make sure our damaged roads are repaired.
