Looking the Other Way in Exchange for Budget Deals?

Statement on U.S. Attorney's Examination of Governor Cuomo's Moreland Commission from Assemblyman Kieran Michael Lalor (R,C,I - Fishkill)

"I'm glad to see the U.S. Attorney's office examining Governor Cuomo's quick shutdown of the Moreland Commission. Did the governor agree to look the other way on corruption in exchange for election-year budget deals? Did the governor shut down investigations when he closed Moreland?"

"All along, we heard that Cuomo's office was meddling with the commission's investigations. After the budget passed, I asked why couldn't New York have new ethics rules and continue the Moreland investigations? That seems to be what the U.S. Attorney is asking. We need some answers from Governor Cuomo. Horsetrading is part of politics, but it doesn't include trading away investigations into corruption."
