Cuomo Puts Politics Before Jobs and Science

Statement on Governor Cuomo's Hydraulic Fracturing Ban from Assemblyman Kieran Michael Lalor (R,C,I - Fishkill)

"Governor Cuomo is putting politics above jobs for struggling New Yorkers with his decision to ban hydraulic fracturing. Other states drill safely, and we can drill safely in New York, too. The natural gas industry has been an incredible boon for the economy across the United States, but not in New York. Drilling is putting America on the path to energy independence, but Cuomo's New York isn't playing a part."

"It's easy for celebrities and wealthy Manhattanites to dismiss natural gas drilling. They don't have to worry about surviving this brutal economy. The jobs that natural gas can bring don't mean anything to them. It's this far-left group that's led the charge against hydraulic fracturing. They put out anti-hydraulic fracturing propaganda that twists the facts and gets the science wrong. At least some of that propaganda has been financed by an OPEC country. It's disappointing to see propaganda and politics trump good policy in New York."
