East Fishkill Assemblyman Kieran Michael Lalor (R,C,I - East Fishkill) renewed his call for the New York State Board of Parole to rescind parole for murderer Terry Losicco after Losicco's
>arrestfor a parole violation today.
"Three months ago I told the Board of Parole that releasing Losicco was a mistake," said Lalor. "Now he's proven himself to be a danger to society again. The Board of Parole broke the law and its own rules to release Losicco. They tried to cover-up that mistake with lies about when they decided to grant parole. The decision to grant parole was dangerous. Now we see that once Losicco was loose he quickly broke the law again. The Board of Parole needs to fix their mistake, acknowledge that they broke the law and rescind Losicco's parole immediately."
In 1980, Losicco brutally murdered and raped 67-year-old grandmother Eleanor Prouty. He was paroled in March. Brooks Prouty, the victim's grandson contacted Lalor through a mutual friend and asked for his help fighting the decision. Prouty has been leading the family's fight to keep Losicco in prison for years. Lalor's vocal opposition to the parole, including his New York Post op-ed, sparked an investigation of the Board of Parole by the New York State Inspector General.
