Assemblyman Kieran Michael Lalor Interviewed Criminal Justice Expert

East Fishkill, NY - Assemblyman Kieran Michael Lalor interviewed criminal justice expert, and retired NYPD Lieutenant, Dr. Darrin Porcher on News Radio 1450 WKIP. During the interview, they discussed the drop in crime despite the drop in the use of stop and frisk. The also discussed why 2017 saw a dramatic drop in police officer deaths and why NYC's crime rate is much lower than other large cities.

Dr. Darrin Porcher received his BA in Organizational Management from St. Josephs College, and an MPA from Marist College. In 2012, Dr. Porcher received his Doctorate Degree from Fordham University. Dr. Porcher retired from the New York City Police Department as a Lieutenant after 20 years of service. Additionally, Dr. Porcher was assigned to the New York City Police Academy in the rank of Sergeant. During the terrorist attacks on Manhattan in 2001, he was responsible for the supervision and rescue and recovery of victims in the World Trade Center complex. Dr. Porcher is also a retired Officer with the United States Army Reserve. Dr. Porcher constructed a series of homeland security, and professional development seminars for his military counterparts to ensure unit compliance.
