Tell The NYS Board Of Parole To Deny Parole To Wonderly Killer

East Fishkill, NY - This week, Assemblyman Kieran Michael Lalor wrote a letter to the New York State Board of Parole asking that they deny parole to Ryan Floryan. You can use this text in your letter/email to the Parole Board. In March 2012, Ryan Floryan, a career criminal, was released on parole after serving two years for armed robbery. While on parole, he committed an even more heinous crime. On August 1, 2012 in Poughkeepsie, Floryan evaded police by running a red light and striking the car of the Wonderly family. The parents, Shawn and Patricia, died and their two young children were orphaned. Floryan’s sentence was 6 1?2 to 13 years for each count of second-degree manslaughter. Both sentences are being served concurrently. I have gotten to know the extended Wonderly family including the orphaned children. I have seen the devastating effects Floryan’s crimes have had on the family and our community. Two lives were taken. Two children were orphaned. After six years, Floryan has not come close to paying his debt to society. Moreover, it would undermine the safety of society, deprecate the serious nature of the crimes and weaken the rule of law if Floryan were paroled after just six years.
