Assemblywoman Joyner Honors the Arts at P.S. 109’s Lion King Performance

Bronx, N.Y. – Assemblywoman Latoya Joyner (D-Bronx, 77th AD) joined P.S. 109 The Sedgwick School, Principal Josette Claudio and its school community as it performed Disney’s The Lion King.

Assemblywoman Joyner presented certificates to all students that helped to put together P.S. 109 The Sedgwick School’s 3rd Annual production of Disney’s The Lion King. Community Elementary School 109, located in Morris Heights section of the Bronx, strives to continue the development of our children by affording Grades K-5 with an arts program that helps to improve literacy through communication art skills, problem-solving and cultural enrichment.

“Children truly shine through the arts and the quality education offered at P.S. 109,” says Assemblywoman Joyner. “I am happy to honor all of those that helped to make this year’s production of The Lion King a success for its school community. Educational enrichment through the arts can assist our young children by helping them to develop the necessary skills to succeed later in life.”
